  • IDS 131/132: Foundations of Patient Care Preceptorship: precepting first and second year medical students in office-based settings, usually general internal medicine, though some subspecialty clinics and hospital settings are also appropriate.   • IDS 131/132: Foundations of Patient Care Small Groups: first and second year students practice interviewing/presentation skills, and reflect on experiences and issues as emerging physicians. Problem-based learning is also included, using cases to help students develop clinical reasoning skills. Location: Parnassus Campus.   • IDS 131: Foundations of Patient Care Physical Exam Instruction Groups: first year students learn to do a basis physical exam by practicing in peers under the supervision of a faculty member. Sessions are held in the fall. Location: Parnassus Campus and Clinical Skills Center (1515 Scott St, SF).   • IDS 111: Longitudinal Clinical Experience (LCE): precepting a third year student in an outpatient setting over the course of the student.s clerkship year (22 half-day sessions). This opportunity is appropriate for both primary care and subspecialty clinics. Location: Preceptor practice.
